BEFORE APPLYING PLEASE REVIEW:
Process 1 and Process 2 below to determine which process to use.
Using the wrong process, may delay your application.
- PROCESS 1 Use the online process only if the school district you live in is in Muskegon County, such as, Oakridge, Fruitport, Orchard View, etc.
- PROCESS 2 Use the paper form below if the school district you live in is in Kent, Newaygo, Oceana or Ottawa County. For example, you live in the Grant, Kent City, Sparta, Coopersville, etc. school district.
- Call 231-853-2231 if you are unsure about which process to use. Filling out the wrong form may cause your application to be delayed.
Process 1 for Muskegon County School Districts
This process is for those whose resident district is in Muskegon County and are interested in attending Ravenna Public Schools. The Muskegon Area Intermediate School (MAISD) has implemented an online system for applying for Schools of Choice. The process is simple and should not take more than a few minutes per student. Reminder-- each student needs their own application.
The open enrollment period begins May 1 and ends May 30 at 11:59 p.m. After May 30 at 11:59 p.m., the link will be disabled and we can no longer accept online applications. Muskegon County SOC Online Application
Process 2 for Kent, Newaygo, Oceana or Ottawa County Districts
This process is for those whose resident district is in Kent, Newaygo, Oceana or Ottawa County and are interested in attending Ravenna Public Schools. Applicants from Kent, Newaygo, Oceana and Ottawa county school districts have from May 1 - May 30 to fill out the Section 105C Schools of Choice paper application provided below. Requests made after that time will require a Release from your resident district. Reminder--each student needs their own application. Important Dates:
Apply between May 1 and May 30
District will notify Parent/Guardian of Acceptance by July 1
Parent/Guardian will verify attendance by the 2nd Monday in July
You've Been Accepted. Now what?
Follow the instructions on the Registration Page located on the district website. Contact the building your child will attend if you have any questions, please provide your name, phone number, full address and child's grade level when leaving a message.
